Lord of the baronies of Pinós, he was the son of Ramon Galceran de Pinós and de Dalda, daughter of the count of Besalú. He married Sicarda.
Pere Galceran de Pinós accompanied and served Ramon Berenguer IV, count of Barcelona in the recovery of Catalonia Nova. For this, he received the castles and towns of Tàrrega, Verdú, Manresana and Els Prats.
